Future England No 1, I’m sure of it. He’s got the lot. Outstanding shot-stopper and gives it some welly, if it needs the big boot. Gets merciless stick but dishes it out, too. Just loves the banter.

If youcan get in Arsenal’s side at his age, you’ve got to be a bit special. Fantastic technique and positional sense, and very quick. Quiet lad but always comes out of his shell with us. It’s that kind of squad.

LEIGHTON BAINES
(Defender, Wigan)
The great escape with Wigan, and don’t we know it. Can’t shut him up. Never yet seen a winger get past him in a one-on-one and only Matt Taylor can match him from 30 yards with his left peg.

ANTON FERDINAND
(Defender, West Ham)
Flash so-and-so to those who don’t know him, but the real Anton is more down to earth than that. Even happy to be seen out with a daft Geordie like me so he can’t be that bad. Some defender, too.

GARY CAHILL

Great lad, but once that Brummie accent gets into overdrive, you’ve got no chance. Can’t understand a word he says at times, but he’s built like a brick outhouse so you don’t like to tell him to his face.

One thing I can’t work out — has anyone in football got a bigger forehead? It’s massive. Known as Akon because he has such a resemblance to the R&B singer. Born leader who keeps everyone’s spirits up.

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE

So good to see him grow in confidence with every touch on Tuesday. Repeatedly went past his marker as if he wasn’t there and showed what a threat he can be. Nightmare for leftbacks in that mood.

JOE HART
(Goalkeeper, Manchester City)
No one could blame him if there were a few early nerves against Slovakia, but the way he settled down and helped win the penalty shoot-out showed he will be an asset in Holland. Quiet but down to earth.

BEN ALNWICK
(Goalkeeper, Tottenham Hotspur)
Known as ‘teeth’ because they tend to be more yellow than white. Probably can’t help it, but it doesn’t take much for a nickname to stick. We’re going to club together and present him with a tube of Colgate.

KIERAN RICHARDSON
(Midfielder, Manchester United)
It was agreed before the Slovakia game that, if we got a penalty, whoever got his hands on the ball first would take it. Kieran did and that says everything about his confidence, as did the kick itself. Cool as you like.

DAVID NUGENT
(Forward, Preston North End)
Might have been disappointed with missed chances against Slovakia but was just pleased with the win, which says everything about him. Always has a smile on his face, which reflects the enjoyment he gets from playing.

ASHLEY YOUNG (Forward, Aston Villa)
Answers to Pinhead, not willingly but he hasn’t got much choice. His head is tiny so what does he expect? Takes it all in his stride, and when you’ve got a stride like his, you can afford to. Ripped Slovakia to shreds with his pace.

(Forward, Reading)
What about the goal celebration on Tuesday! Showed what it meant to him, even though the game was already safe. So quick and direct that even if he’s not scoring, he’s winning you freekicks in dangerous areas.

LIAM ROSENIOR
(Defender, Fulham)
What is it with southerners? Don’t they ever shut up? Any banter, he will be in the middle of it. No cliques in this squad, and he’s one of the reasons. Will talk to anyone.

JAMES MILNER
(Midfielder, Newcastle)
You will have to have seen the film Waterboy to get this, but everyone calls him ‘Bobby Boucher’. Always drinking water. Whatever he is doing, and it is usually a computer game, there is always a bottle of Evian by his side.

TOM HUDDLESTONE
(Midfielder, Tottenham)
Gentle giant off the pitch but fearsome presence on it. So much going for him with his incredible range of passing and long-distance shooting. Has every chance of becoming a midfield great.

MARK NOBLE
(Midfielder, West Ham)
One of the reasons West Ham stayed up. Tevez got the credit, but it was Mark’s return to the team that coincided with their amazing transformation. Small but gets stuck in and has a keen eye for goal.

MATT DERBYSHIRE
(Forward, Blackburn)
Hails from Great Harwood and has an accent that is true to his roots. Broad Lancashire. But it’s just too good to miss, and he gets the full ‘aye-oop’ treatment from the rest of the lads.

NEDUM ONUOHA
(Defender, Man City)
Seems to have come from nowhere this season, but is in on merit. What a powerful lad. Very good defender who looks a natural right-back and won’t let anyone down. Has fitted into the squad easily.

JAMES VAUGHAN
(Forward, Everton)
There are few funnier sounds than Vaughany trying to come across as a Scouser. All right, he’s been on Merseyside a few years, but he’s a Brummie. He has a Birmingham accent, but the odd word comes out Scouse. You can’t help laughing.

PETER WHITTINGHAM
(Defender, Cardiff City)
Is there any more chilled-out character in the game? Which is why we call him ‘Bothered’. He looks really bothered! Great passing ability and one of the most technically gifted players in the squad.

Well this Movie is a Must Watch according to me.
This movie is based on the Philosphy "Success is not in doing different things but it is in doing things differently"
This movie is based on Underworld Crimes and many movies have been made on the same topic.
But this movie is a multi-starrer and focuses on a real happening in 1991 that shook whole India.

Positives--
1.Based on Reality with some Rumors (as the sub-title says) and reality related Movies are the Requirements of the Movie Goers.
2.Movie may be Multi-starrer but every star has been given a role which gives justice to the Movie and the actor.
3.Sanjay Dutt acting has been Superb,played the Role of ACP A.A.Khan awesomely well as ACP Khan himself has praised him.
4.Movie is quite well Directed although it could have been better.
5.Big B has done a important role if not a long role and his acting is as usual gr8.
6.Vivek Oberoi acting is very very good and along with him all the actors who played Gangsters have done very well.

Negatives--
1.At some scenes the inexperience of the Director Apoorva Lakhia Showed.
2.It has been in Controversies although it has just given huge publicity.

Not many negatives to write.

In this the Summer of Sequels, movie goers everywhere will be re-introduced to so many of their favorite movie franchises. Spider-Man has made his return to the big screen, Shrek came back for one more and now Captain Jack and his band of pillaging Pirates have entered the race, dominating the Memorial Day weekend with their journey to World’s End.

And while the world speculates whether these epic, record-breaking third installments will be the last of these particular franchises, I would like to take a look at epic franchises in general. What is an Epic Movie Franchise, you may ask? Well, it starts by having at least two movies in a series and can range anywhere from 2-3 films (a la Mission Impossible) to countless installments and re-hashings (a la James Bond). The even harder question: how do you say what is the most powerful movie franchise in history? Is it the one that has grossed the most money at the box office? Is it the franchise with the most longevity? Is it the one with the most marketing prowess or the largest fanbase? I say it is a combination of all of these things; the cult followings, the major blockbuster releases and yes, even the marketability play a part. When these franchises crank out a new film, fans storm the gates, camp out and sacrifice members of their families to be the first to behold their favorite characters on the big screen.
Today, I bring you the Ten Most Powerful Movie Franchises in History to kickstart this June Month at the Blog.

10. Indiana Jones

If you seek to understand what happened to George Lucas after Star Wars and what Steven Spielberg did before Jurassic Park, look no further than the Indiana Jones franchise. Almost subtly, these two cinematic masterminds unleashed one of the most iconic and unsuspecting heroes in film with Raiders of the Lost Arc in 1981. Jones had a way about him, thanks to a young Harrison Ford, that played well across just about every demographic. And while many though that Indy was a thing of the past, a relic to be locked up in the vault of cinema history, another film is due out in 2008. In classic Indiana Jones fashion, the guy may be down but he is certainly never out.

9. Spider-Man Everyone knew that Spider-Man would make this particular list, but I bet you didn’t see it going so low in the pecking order, did ya? Whether it is my unbridled anger toward Sam Raimi for the most recent installment’s tremendous suckage or the fact that I personally think Batman could kick Spider-Man’s ass, I just don’t see Spider-Man as the end-all-be-all of movie franchises. Sure it has grossed billions world-wide between theatrical releases, DVDs and merchandising sales, but Spider-Man’s true fanbase is born of the iconic comic book hero, not Tobey Maguire in tights.

8. Shrek

I know what you are thinking; Shrek? WTF? And as much as Shrek may not belong in the same arena as some of the franchises yet to come on this list, there is no way to look past the power it has over the kids of world. The big green Ogre and his posse have proven with their third installment that even without much of a story, a Shrek movie can still be successful. Because it is animated and encompasses a great amount of characters, this franchise could live on forever. And even though the big kids may not appreciate it, the little ones will continue to devour everything Shrek, leaving mommy and daddy’s rising credit card debt in their wake.

7. Jurassic Park George Lucas has his big franchise, which we will get to later in the list. But what about the other guy behind Indiana Jones? Doesn’t Steven Spielberg get any power franchise love? Of course he does, as his 1993 film Jurassic Park brought both dinosaurs and the lore of ILM to life and into the American mainstream. Even with 2 lukewarm sequels, Jurassic Park still stands tall as one of the crowning achievements of computer-aided graphics and it is to this day one of the most prominent blockbusters of all-time. And it was inspiration for a Weird Al Yankovic song. ‘Nuff said.

6. Pirates of the Caribbean
Unlike many of the franchises on this list that are based on epic comic books or great novels, the Pirates of the Caribbean films were based on a ride at Disneyland. While that may not have sounded like a good idea to most people back in 2002 before the release of the first film, leave it to the folks at Disney to show that they could market just about anything. It is a franchise that solidified Johnny Depp as a big star, brought back the Pirate as a popular Halloween costume and brought some flair back to Disney in general (because let’s admit it, they haven’t had a live-action franchise like this since The Mighty Ducks. And hanging your hat on Emilio Estevez is just no good.)

5. Batman In my personal opinion, there is no bigger badass in the history of superheroes than the Dark Knight himself. Many people wouldn’t know that if their limited experience with the character consisted only of the cheesed up films directed by Joel Shumacher back in the late-1990s. It wasn’t so bad that he put nipples on the Bat-suit as it was that he put George Clooney in the Bat-suit. But thankfully the gods of cinema sent Batman fans a savior in Christopher Nolan, whose Batman Begins set a new standard for the entire franchise, giving the Caped Crusader some balls once again. And with a new movie just around the corner, fans not only have their savior, they have plenty of hope for the future.

4. The Lord of the Rings What would a great “Epic Movie Franchise” list be without Peter Jackson’s mammoth Oscar-winning trilogy based on the equally as popular books by J.R.R Tolkien. The final installment of the series, The Return of the King won 11 Oscars and is ranked #9 on IMDB’s top 250 films of all-time list. And that is not to mention that the first two films didn’t do too bad, either. The journey of Frodo, Sam and a gaggle of others to save Middle Earth is one of the most well-documented cinematic adventures of all-time. And with rumors of a “Hobbit” spin-off running ramped, it doesn’t look like LOTR is done bringing in the bank just yet.

3. Harry Potter Of all the great epic movie franchises, Harry Potter is definitely one of the youngest, but by no means the weakest. The first Harry Potter book by author J.K. Rowling was released circa 1998, with a major film adaptation coming in 2001. Since then the franchise has gathered one of the largest followings since Christianity with 4 films, 6 (soon to be 7) books and a web presence that is unprecedented. From fansites to podcasts to merchandising deals that would rival any major sports star, people go absolutely nuts for that awkward, pubescent little magician and his memorable friends. How long will the Potter lore last? J.K. Rowling could probably write books forever and people would buy them up, but the films have a shorter lease on life, as they won’t be too much fun when Daniel Radcliffe is 25 trying to play the part of a 17 year old…

2. James Bond The star of one of the most abundant movie franchises, James Bond is also one of the most recognizable characters in all of film. The world loves his swagger, his sex appeal and his underlying badass nature. They even love to compare him to himself, with a rotation of actors constantly fueling the debate of who is the best bond? Some would say that Roger Moore had it down, others live and die by the Connery Bond and others still have been greatly impressed with Daniel Craig as the spy who shags often. But no matter who tops the list as your favorite Bond, we all know that there is no spy, no man of action who commands more attention than 007 himself.

1. Star Wars With 6 films that have grossed almost $2 billion dollars at the box office and one of the most dedicated fan bases in all of pop culture, there is no question that Star Wars is the most powerful film franchise in history. Even despite a lackluster showing with the most recent 3 films, George Lucas is bombarded daily with questions about the future of the franchise. It is a franchise that has spawned countless spin-off projects, is the butt end of so many pop culture references and is constantly looked upon as the pinnacle of geekdom. Since the first film hit theaters on May 25, 1977 there has been no turning back; Star Wars is the king of all movie franchises, there is just no way around it.

Honorable Mentions:
The Matrix - In 1999 Larry and Andy Wachowski unleashed The Matrix, a film that would revolutionize the way Hollywood made action movies. It was the first film to show off bullet-time and one of the most awe-inspiring spectacles of the digital age. But while it did so much for action/fantasy film, it ran its course with 2 sequels, both received well by fans. Could they make another Matrix film? Sure. Would it be as good as the first time we experienced bullet-time on the big screen? Probably not.
Star Trek - Just so that I am not crucified by the geek nation for forgetting Star Trek, here it is. How could I forget it, you may ask? Simple: I don’t like Star Trek. To me, it pales in comparison to Star Wars (on the movie front) and has found more of an audience through various TV series. While it is a strong brand, none of the franchise’s films were able to break through to the mainstream as with Star Wars or LOTR. Plus this is my list. If you don’t like it, you can wait for the poll and make your voice heard.

It will be a bittersweet moment when David Beckham leaves Madrid for a new life in LA in July. The stylish football ace will clearly miss the camaraderie he shares with his Real Madrid team-mates, including Roberto Carlos, Mahamadou Diarra and Fernando Gago, with whom he was spotted joking at a recent car event in the Spanish capital.

And the affection is clearly mutual. Last week David joined some of his closest friends from the squad for a get-together at one of his favourite restaurants where he was presented with an engraved silver tray and told he would always have a home in Madrid.With his team topping the league table, David has set his sights on one more big piece of silverware before packing his bags for Beverly Hills. "I want the league title before I go, and I'm sure we can get it now," he says. His current dazzling form on the pitch has not only thrilled fans but also attracted the attentions of England manager Steve McClaren, who is said to be considering bringing back the former captain for a friendly against Brazil on June 1. "I still want to play for my country and I still believe I can do it," Becks said recently.

While he jets in from Madrid to pick up the gong in London on Monday night, his wife Victoria is in America overseeing the final preparations for their move. She has been in the news of late, too, after sales of a self-help book soared when the mum-of-three was spotted reading it. Sales of Skinny Bitch, billed as a "no nonsense guide for savvy girls to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous", have gone up by 37,000 per cent since the 33-year-old was seen with it.

-The Message of the movie is Sensible.
- Saif has done justice with the lead role.
-Jaaved Jaffrey has done a good job as a Supporting Actor.
-The Presentation of the movie is perfect.
-The Concept is new in Bollywood and its quite good.

Negatives-
-Movie is not well Directed and inexperience of the Director showed in the movie.
-There is lot of overacting by the cast especially Rani Mukherjee.
-The Story line is not strong enough to give support to the message.
-Music is fine,,not typically Yash Raj movie Songs.

Who Was Leonidas? (300 movie based on his life)

Leonidas (Greek: Λεωνίδας - "Lion's son", "Lion-like") was a king of Sparta, the 17th of the Agiad line, one of the sons of King Anaxandridas II of Sparta, who was believed to be a descendant of Heracles. He succeeded his half-brother Cleomenes I, probably in 489 BC or 488 BC, and was married to Cleomenes' daughter, Gorgo. His name was raised to a heroic and legendary status as a result of the events in the Battle of Thermopylae.
As the story goes in 480 BC Leonidas went to Thermopylae with 300 of his finest soldiers, where he was joined by a 6000-strong Greek force, in an attempt to hold the pass of Thermopylae against the hundreds of thousands of Persian soldiers who had invaded from the north of Greece under King Xerxes The Great. Contemporary accounts claim Leonidas took his small personal fighting unit because Spartan religious customs forbade sending an army at that time of year. In addition, he was deliberately going to his doom: an oracle had foretold that Sparta could be saved only by the death of one of its kings, one of the lineage of Heracles. Instead it seems likely that the ephors supported the plan half-heartedly due to the festival of Carneia and their policy of concentrating the Greek forces at the Isthmus of Corinth.
According to Plutarch, Leonidas's wife Gorgo asked him how she could aid his mission. He responded "marry a good man, bear good children, and live a good life."
Several episodes demonstrate the laconic matter-of-fact bravery that famed Leonidas and the Spartans. On the first day of the siege Xerxes demanded the Greeks surrender their arms. Leonidas replied Μολών Λαβέ ("Come and get them"). This phrase has been re-used by generals and politicians throughout history and often repeated in popular culture. Today it is the emblem of the Greek 1st Army Corps.
Leonidas's men repulsed the frontal attacks of the Persians for the first two days, but when the Malian Ephialtes led the Persian general Hydarnes by a mountain track to the rear of the Greeks, Leonidas divided his army. The King himself remained in the pass with his 300 Spartans and 400 Thebans, along with 700 Thespians who refused to leave. Leonidas's intent was to delay the Persians, sacrificing himself and his men.
The little Greek force, attacked from both sides, was cut down to a man except for the Thebans, who surrendered. One theory is that Leonidas sent the remainder of his men home to preserve troops for future battles. The soldiers who stayed behind were to protect their escape from the Persian cavalry.
Leonidas fell in the thickest of the fight, but the Spartans retrieved his body and protected it until their final fall to enemy arrows. Herodotus says that Leonidas's head was cut off by order of Xerxes and his body crucified, due to his alleged hatred towards the Spartan King. This was considered sacrilegious and an unusual action on the part of Xerxes[1]. Immediately afterwards, he ordered the desecration of Leonidas's body; however, forty years later Leonidas's corpse was returned to the Spartans.
Leonidas was buried with full honours, including a very un-Spartan display of wailing and mourning (Spartans normally accepted death in battle as a matter of course and disapproved of outward grieving, but the oracle at Delphi had ordered this along with the sacrifice of a Spartan king to preserve Sparta). A carved lion monument bearing the inscription below was dedicated at his death site commemorating the sacrifice of him and his men:

Two Spartans survived the conflict. Aristodemus suffered an eye injury and was sent behind the lines, eventually ordered back to Sparta with the retreating allies by the King. Pantites was sent by Leonidas to raise support in Thessaly but returned to Thermopylae only after the battle's conclusion. Pantites hanged himself in disgrace after being shunned as a "trembler".

Multi-million pound buys Andriy Shevchenko and Shaun Wright-Phillips are finally paying Roman Abramovich a dividend on his investment.

It was a defining moment for either Chelsea or Spurs -- and the excitement could not be contained. First, the FA Cup quarter-final replay could have ended Chelsea's sweet run for their second silverware of the season. Second, a tough 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge could have meant another 2-1 victory for Spurs at their stadium -- a repeat of what happened in November when the Blues lost.

Finally, it was a time for revenge on Chelsea for that very reason. Spurs had gone home disappointed with the draw and a promise to win it at their home stadium. After all, Robbie Keane, Paul Robinson and Jermaine Defoe would be there. Unfortunately for Spurs fans, that was still not quite what happened.

Kevin McCarra of The Guardian wrote: "If the first meeting had been enthrallingly spectacular, the replay of this FA Cup quarter-final intrigued with its element of surprise. No one could have anticipated the finish with which Andriy Shevchenko opened the scoring or the volley from Shaun Wright-Phillips that doubled Chelsea’s lead."

Indeed. If there was anything sweeter than the victory itself, that would be the two simply and undeniably magnificent goals from Shevchenko and Wright-Phillips. Shevchenko's goal in the 53rd minute was so good that Jose Mourinho hugged him after he was brought out to rest in the 81st minute.

That curling strike, which left Robinson motionless, proved to be a boost to the already strong Chelsea side. SWP's equally brilliant goal came just seven minutes later. Perhaps we saw competitors for FA Cup Goal of the Season. It would have been less special if it hadn't come from Shevchenko. What's the big deal that every time he scores people talk about it? Because people like to think of him as a flop signing. Therefore, every goal of his is a celebration.

The same is said of Wright-Phillips, but on this occasion he proved why he needed to be part of the starting XI. Not only did he play a great midfield role, he also gave us our second and winning goal, courtesy of a chest pass from Didier Drogba. Just like Shevchenko, we are starting to see why we paid so much money for these two players. Furthermore, SWP's outshining of Aaron Lennon will prove to be crucial and threatening to the latter in the selection of a midfielder for England's upcoming Euro 2008 qualifier against Israel.

Now that we are through to the semi-finals, with Blackburn Rovers as our next opponents, we can almost smell the brand new and wonderful Wembley. I can sense a classic match between the best and second best teams in England, Chelsea and Manchester United respectively. Despite the Devils winning through with controversial penalties lately, we have just got to accept it for fear that we win the FA Cup, our second silverware, so easily.

I am expecting United to thrash Watford in the semi-final but to give all my respect to Blackburn, I will not say it will be an easy one for us. After all, they beat one of the top (but struggling) teams, Arsenal. The only thing we can do is wait and expect a win.

I have to mention the mad Spurs fan who attempted to punch Frank Lampard in the face. It was good he was caught, but the allegations that Drogba stomped on the fan's ankle with the intention of breaking it, well, I only heard it from Spurs fans. But I am keeping my eyes open for whatever comes out of the investigation. However, I think this is the worst kind of fanaticism.

Spurs fans should be ashamed of this incident. One, we didn't win by a controversial penalty, like the Red Devils did. Two, what was wrong with celebrating on the pitch? Wouldn't Spurs have done the same if they had won the first match? What was the point in wanting to harm the opponents' players?

Passion is not to be blurred and overpowered by emotions. Devotion to a team does not mean willingness to resort to violence and cheap shots, especially in cases of defeat. It is well appreciated that Spurs took immediate action by giving the assailant a lifetime ban.

To rid myself of disgust at the Spurs fan, I just tell myself: Wembley, here we come.

Well we are down to the crunch match of India's World Cup Campaign,however no one of us would have expected that the do or die time will come so early for India in this World Cup. India HAVE TO to win the tie against Sri Lanka to keep their chances alive of making it to Super 8 on the basis of points,Net Run Rate or whatever.
All these factors will be useless if India cant beat Sri Lanka. Although India have a good chances on the account of form against Sri Lanka,they have won 6 of last 10 matches against the Lankans.
But i feel happy to recall the thought of Outspoken Navjot Singh Sidhu "Stats are like bikini,they show a lot but hide important things"
So its too early to say that we can beat the Lankans,However we should be hopeful and have faith in team.
Well this will be a true test for Sehwag to prove that he is back in form as to be fair i feel that his ton against Bermuda does not prove that he is back to his old best.Although he played a good knock and no one can take that away from him.Let hope he blast the Lankan Bowling attack.

Well opening partnership will be very crucial for India as well as Sri Lanka,and i am sure Ganguly will do good with whoever partner he has got at the other end,Robin or Virender.

Lets hope Indian Bowlers strike apart Lankan batsmans, But to our fears,Indian Bowlers have not done well so far in the World Cup.Even against Bermuda they were not able to bowled out them quickly.
But India are good enough to beat the Mighty lankans.

So watch the game with full spirit and pray for India and have confidence in the team.
